BREAKING NEWS FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES: Mitch McConnell is asking older judges to retire to ensure that Republicans can confirm their replacements this year

Hello,

What's Mitch McConnell doing during the coronavirus pandemic? According to a report from The New York Times, McConnell is making phone calls to older federal judges, asking them to retire so he can have more vacancies to fill with young, unqualified, and ultra-conservative justices.

For years, Mitch McConnell has been laser-focused on packing the courts with right-wing judges - even if it means breaking the Senate, politicizing our independent judiciary, and undermining our Democratic ideals. But the idea that Mitch McConnell would be privately calling federal judges asking them to retire is unprecedented.

It's all part of Mitch's strategy: When Democrats are in power, he does everything he can to block and obstruct. And when Republicans are in power, Mitch changes the rules back (and then some!) so he can to stack the courts with right-wing justices that will sit on the bench for the next 30 to 40 years.

McConnell is willing to erode the very fabric of our democracy to get his way, and when future generations write the history of who broke Washington, it will be Mitch McConnell's name staring up at them from the pages of their history books.

Luckily, Mitch McConnell is up for reelection this November, and we have a very real chance to send him packing: Every single poll shows a tight race, Nate Silver says he thinks Democrat Amy McGrath can win, and we're currently out-raising and out-spending McConnell!

Unfortunately, we've been forced to cancel all of our in-person campaign and fundraising events as a result of COVID-19, so we've set an emergency goal of immediately raising another $500,000 before the end of the month to launch more TV, radio, and digital ads to make up for what we're not able to do in-person.

But we don't have corporations and special interests backing us like McConnell does. Instead, we've been building a grassroots movement of over 143,000 donors, and we're truly counting on people like you to give now if we're going to hit our emergency goal and help Amy McGrath defeat Mitch McConnell:

If you're as ready as we are to Ditch Mitch, then please, click here right now and make an urgent contribution of whatever amount you can afford today so that we can help Amy McGrath send McConnell packing this November. Anything you can spare will go a long way, and every dollar you give will go directly to ensure that Mitch McConnell never wins another election ever again.

Together, we are going to show Mitch McConnell that no amount of corporate money is going to save him. We will defeat him and finally end his political career once and for all.

Thank you for being a part of this grassroots movement from the start,
