President Joe Biden announced he is dropping out of the race.

In his statement not to seek re-election, he reminded us all that “[T]here is nothing America can’t do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”

His decision to put country over party and personal power speaks volumes, and it sets an example of service above self. This stands in stark contrast to Jack Bergman, who reimbursed himself $44,000 in tax-payer money for food and lodging above his $174,000 salary, who voted against funding for our district while taking credit for it, and who supported the Tuberville blockade of military promotions, all to support his partisan agenda.

I know we can make a difference in Upper and Northern Michigan - together. That’s why electing leaders who will advocate for us and not for private and corporate interests–leaders who will put country over party, cooperation over division–is so important.

So, while protecting our democracy and putting country before party, let’s tackle issues impacting us here at home: the high cost of living, bringing good jobs here, protecting women’s reproductive freedoms, and advocating for veterans and military families.
