Feminist Majority enthusiastically endorses Kamala Harris for President

Salutes President Biden for his extraordinary work for women and girls

Feminist Majority Co-Founder and President Eleanor Smeal today released the following statement on the organization’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for President:

“The Feminist Majority is proud to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. Vice President Harris has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to advancing women's rights, equality, and justice throughout her distinguished career in public service and as Vice President. She has been a vocal proponent of reproductive rights and healthcare access and the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

“Feminists everywhere thank President Joe Biden for his decades-long service and his steadfast commitment to advancing equality for women across the United States and around the globe. For decades, Joe Biden has stood on the frontlines of equality and shoulder-to-shoulder with feminists, working together to pass historic legislation including the Violence Against Women Act and the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.”

Los Angeles-based Feminist Majority Executive Director Katherine Spillar added the following:

“The Feminist Majority strongly urges feminists to support Presidential candidate Harris.  This country is at a critical crossroads characterized by the erosion of abortion rights, insufficient pay equity and parental leave, rising maternal mortality rates, and assaults on trans healthcare. We must elect Harris as President to address these challenges and ensure that as a nation this country moves towards gender and social justice.
