John,

Our children are our future, and as an elected official, it is my duty to secure a bright future for every child in the United States.

Project 2025 is a direct and callous attack on this fundamental responsibility. In a moment, I'm going to discuss the exact education policies the GOP aims to implement nationally — policies that would severely undermine the future of our country. But if you don’t have time to read my full thoughts, you can go ahead and make a donation to help me elect Democrats up and down the ballot now>> [link removed]

The GOP’s Project 2025 proposals are alarming:

>They want to reduce the federal government’s role in education to mere data collection, leaving all decisions to the states with zero federal oversight.

>They propose eliminating the federal government’s ability to enforce civil rights in schools or investigate racial and ethnic disparities in disciplinary measures.

>They would slash an $18 billion fund for low-income students would be allowed to expire, and the Head Start program, which supports low-income children.

>They will drastically reduce funding for free school meals.

What riles me up the most is the proposed massive cuts to resources for students from low-income families and the GOP's idea to remove oversight from our schools. Every child, regardless of income, deserves the opportunity for a strong start. Education should be a collective effort that includes both the individual state’s needs and the federal government — not a free-for-all that the GOP gets to shape to its own ideology.

Schools are more than just buildings, John. They are the homes of the hopes and aspirations of young learners. They are places where we learn to make friends, work together, play, read, question assumptions, and dream big dreams. Our schools shape who we are, and that’s why we must do everything in our power to make sure our schools are the best places possible to nurture the future of our country.

I am taking a stand against the GOP and their anti-education policies to ensure they never get to implement these damaging laws. Are you with me? Please, make a donation of $5 or whatever you can afford to help us fight for our children's future. >> [link removed]
