John -
Yesterday, President Biden made an important decision to not seek reelection. Instead, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to run in November.
This is hopeful news, John. VP Harris has been a long-time climate champion — who has sued Big Oil during her time as California's Attorney General, supported a Green New Deal, and has talked about the role utilities play in exacerbating human suffering due to the climate crisis.
But let me be clear, the road to victory for Vice President Harris will be hard. While many of us might be more enthusiastic about her, she will face racism and misogyny from a large number of voters, with just a few months left to introduce her platform. VP Harris might not be perfect, but she would give us a better chance to stop Trump and the Republican Party’s disastrous Project 2025 plan.
At the end of the day, politics is hard and complicated — and we, as the climate movement, need to hold our elected officials accountable. And this is why we need you, John. As we continue to build a people-powered climate movement centered on justice, we need people like you to make sure our politicians keep their words so we can build the future we want.
John, we have a plan to make climate a key issue in the upcoming election, and we need your help to make it a reality. Can you sign up to volunteer with 350 Action now so we can build a better and just world for everyone?
Thank you,
Jeff Ordower
