As the novel coronavirus pandemic strains health care systems across the globe, the number of people in need of care has grown tremendously—and Doctors Without Borders is rapidly expanding our response. Our teams are on the ground in more than 50 countries working to stop the spread of this life-threatening disease, on top of keeping our other vital projects running in more than 70 countries around the world amid unique challenges like supply shortages and travel restrictions.
These are difficult times to say the least. But Doctors Without Borders has been able to scale up without a moment’s hesitation. That’s because our monthly donors, our Field Partners, ensure we’re prepared to go where others can’t–or won’t–when emergency strikes. That's why, as we face the new challenges presented by the pandemic, our Board of Advisors is challenging us to bring in 1,000 new monthly supporters this month. If we meet this goal, they will match these gifts with a one-time grant of $120,000!
For decades, our physicians, nurses, and other experts have been responding to deadly outbreaks of infectious diseases like measles and Ebola. Our deep experience delivering medical humanitarian aid has prepared us for this moment: We’re improving infection control measures in Iraq, training staff in Yemen, building mobile clinics for migrants and other vulnerable people in France, and more.
You can help us prepare for what’s next. Here’s how far your generosity could go:
All of us at Doctors Without Borders are thinking of you and your loved ones at this time. We’re so grateful for your support—and we’re wishing you all the best.
