,
When the news broke on Sunday that President Biden would not be seeking re-election, I immediately began to reflect on his role as the boldest climate champion we’ve ever had in the White House.
As the President responsible for conserving more public land than any living president, rejoining the Paris Agreement, and delivering the largest climate and energy package in U.S. history, he leaves behind a legacy that will inspire and guide us as we continue the essential work of building towards a sustainable future. President Biden’s commitment to enacting historic climate legislation, like the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, has set a whole new standard for climate progress.
The Biden Administration has been laser-focused on promoting policies that are instrumental in our fight against the climate crisis -- like reducing carbon emissions, advancing clean energy technologies, preserving public lands, and promoting climate resilience.
We thank President Biden for his unwavering dedication to climate action, and while his departure marks the end of an era, it also serves as a powerful rallying cry for Democrats in November.
The progress we’ve made under the President’s leadership must continue, and we must ensure that the next administration builds on the foundation he has laid. It’s our duty to elect leaders at all levels of government who are committed to advancing our transition to an equitable and resilient future.
This is a critical moment in our fight against the climate crisis and the stakes have never been higher. Together, I know we can win.
Thank you,
