What we witnessed yesterday is Democracy in action. We respect President Biden’s decision and are honored to have been led by him. We support the process of leadership selection for our great nation and are excited about the potential opportunity to elect a Black Asian woman as our President. Our ability to adapt and respond in real-time to widespread confusion about the future of the ticket is what will ensure rural, urban, and suburban North Carolinians head to the polls, informed and confident about their options.
We remain committed to helping our communities of color claim their power through civic engagement, and Sunday’s announcement only reinforces the New North Carolina Project’s commitment to igniting community-focused change and creating a groundswell of lifelong voters.
