Hi,
EARTHDAY.ORG is excited to announce our new report: Pets
vs. Plastics.
This report explores the detrimental effects of toxic chemicals
from plastics and microplastics in the lives of our furry friends.
Plastics, a mix of oil and additive chemicals, are associated with a
startling amount of health risks, causing infertility, cancer and
heart attacks in humans.
Additionally, our Babies vs. Plastics report revealed that
babies are exposed to high concentrations of microplastics, indicating
that some of the most vulnerable members of our family are exposed to
toxins daily. This concern extends beyond humans, as our Pets vs.
Plastics report shows that our furry friends are also exposed to
comparable levels of these toxic particles.
From the toys they chew and play with to the food they eat,
the overlooked dangers of plastics are everywhere for our furry
friends. Dog food packaging, toys, ear tags, and household
dust are all things that contain microplastics or microfibers that
leach toxic chemicals into our pets skin, gums, and stomachs, causing
health issues like liver failure, cancers, and infertility.
Learn how to make changes in your life to
protect your pets.
As our companions, pets can be negatively affected by the
choices humans, their owners, make regarding their care. Use
this report to understand how plastics can harm our pets and what you
can do in your own home to make positive change. EARTHDAY.ORG is
dedicated to driving awareness about plastic pollution through this
report, which is the second of five reports in our Planet vs.
Plastics campaign.
