John,

Happy Earth Day! Today, on the 50th anniversary, our team is celebrating our commitment to environmental protection. Preserving and protecting our environment takes commitment from all of us.

As the chair of the Agriculture subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry, I am focused on many aspects of environmental policy, including bringing our farmers and producers into the conversation about climate change.

I was proud to join my neighbor and friend, Rep. Donald McEachin, as an original co-sponsor of his bill, the 100% Clean Economy Act. This excellent legislation sets a nationwide goal of achieving a 100% clean energy economy by 2050, defined as net-zero climate pollution across all sectors of the United States’ economy.

Will you join me and Rep. McEachin in supporting a clean energy economy?

This important bill also aims to improve public health and environmental outcomes, focusing in particular on communities disproportionately impacted by climate change like low-income communities, communities of color, and rural communities.

Sign our pledge to support a clean energy economy by 2050

John, thank you for your consideration. If you can, I’d encourage you to find a moment to enjoy nature today.

Thank you,
Abigail
