Dear Friend --

We are saddened today to report Long Beach has lost a total of 27 residents to COVID-19. Our continued love and prayers go out to their families and friends. These losses bring into focus the importance of our Safer at Home order and that we have to do all we can to stay healthy.

You have access everyday to our Long Beach data through our new dashboard. You can access the dashboard at any time here <[link removed]>.

Here's an update on today's numbers:

- 489 positive results, including 44 people who are hospitalized and approximately 288* cases where people have recovered.  - 147 positive cases have been confirmed at a total of seven long-term care facilities <[link removed]> in Long Beach, which includes sites with active cases, cleared cases and fatalities. These cases include both facility residents and staff members (who may not be Long Beach residents).

- There are a total of 27 fatalities: - All had underlying health conditions
- 22 are associated with long-term care facilities
- Three individuals were in their 50s, five were in their 60s, three were in their 70s and 16 were over 80 years old
- 11 individuals were men and 16 were women
- At this time, to avoid risk to patient privacy, no further details will be provided

- Today’s information regarding positive cases, hospitalizations, and demographic breakdown is available online at www.longbeach.gov/COVID19 <[link removed]>.
- The City’s data dashboard provides information that allows the public to see more granular data than previously released and now provides city comparisons among other jurisdictions.  - The elements of the dashboard are updated as information comes in so that the public can get the most up-to-date information available.

 Thank you,

Mayor Robert Garcia
