Hello,

In this week’s edition, I explain why you should say what is true and aim up with all the opportunities presented to you. Then, this afternoon I will sit down with Elon Musk at his Austin Tesla facility. Our conversation will be livestreamed exclusively on DailyWire+ and X at 3pm ET / 2pm CT. From the archives, I revisit a talk I gave last year about the necessity of free speech, which is the predicate of all rights, and your responsibility to think and speak truthfully because of it.

Advice

Say What You Know To Be True

If you fail to say what you know to be true, you corrupt the world. You corrupt being. If you lie, you corrupt being. Corrupted being is hell, and if we all lie enough, then we have hell. Whether we all lie enough to bring about hell is actually dependent in much larger part than you might desire to admit. It is dependent on your choice.

With our incredible technological gadgets and computational power, we are very powerful now, and that is only going to become even more so the case. We are going to become way more powerful really fast, so you better get your act together because children cannot wield  that kind of power without all hell breaking loose. I am very optimistic because things could be even better than what we could imagine, but if we want to, we sure could make them worse.

So we all have to decide: Are we aiming up with all we have or are we aiming down? We should each do what we can in the confines of our own life in the unlimited expanse of the opportunity of our own lives to aim up. If we all do that carefully enough, then up we will go. If we do not, then we can have the alternative.

Psychologist and academic Dr. Jordan B. Peterson joins businessman and X-owner Elon Musk at his Austin Tesla facility for a live conversation this afternoon, starting at 3pm ET / 2pm CT. Watch as the discussion unfolds between these two brilliant minds and engaging conversationalists, available exclusively on DailyWire+ and X.

How To Engage In Culture Without Chaos

Your culture is a set of value-laden presuppositions that you use to orient yourself in the world that match the set of value-laden presuppositions that everyone in your culture has and acts out. That means when you are among your own people, you believe some things implicitly. It is the way you look at the world. It is the way you act things out. Everyone expects you to act them out. There is a match between what you see and are doing and what other people expect. It is that match that regulates your emotions. It is not the belief system; it is the match. Part of the reason people are so tied to their cultural identity is because their cultural identity regulates their emotions — and in a profound way.

This Is Why We Must Protect Freedom Of Speech

In September of last year, I spoke at Buckley Institute’s Disinvitation Dinner and shared my thoughts on free speech, which I believe is the antidote to totalitarianism. Free speech is the predicate of all rights. You have the right to free speech so that you can bear the responsibility of thinking and speaking truthfully. You think in words, by internalizing dialogue, so you put forth your viewpoint to potentially have it opposed. We keep each other sane by communicating collectively.
