To ensure that our work is high-quality and meeting the needs of our global grantee partners, we will be carrying out an external evaluation starting later this year. We are currently seeking consultant/s to assess SAAF's grant-making processes. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the world.
We recently published our 2023 Annual Report in English, French and Spanish. Take a look to find out more about global advocacy and abortion service provision.
Thank you to all the SAAF grantee partners who shared their stories, photos and achievements from last year.
SAAF grantee partner Tamtang Group is a pivotal part of the movement to decriminalise and destigmatise abortion in Thailand. Read interviews with Tamtang's staff and volunteers to find out more about how they've changed access to safe abortion, including their own abortion hotline which has been running since 2011.
SAAF has been funding the work of the Reproductive Health Training Center (RHTC) in Moldova for 10 years. In this time they have made some incredible achievements in improving access to safe abortion care.
In early 2020 they embarked on a pilot study to introduce abortion by telemedicine in Moldova. The COVID lockdowns increased the need for remote access to medications, and the study was a huge success, with a 99% satisfaction rating from patients. Last year they extended the scheme to Transnistria, a separatist region which was not benefitting from remote access to abortion pills. The pilot study has again proven successful, and RHTC plans to scale up across the region.
SAAF is hosted by IPPF. If you wish to report anything which concerns you about our work, or the work of our grantee partners (such as abuse, fraud, malpractice) please consider using the confidential external incident reporting service IPPF SafeReport.
