Friend,

On the first Earth Day in 1970, millions of Americans came together under one common mission: to protect our planet and our collective future. Fifty years have passed, and while we can't come together this Earth Day, it's an important reminder that defeating the climate crisis has never been more urgent -- even as we remain steadfast in our fight against COVID-19.

In fact, if there's anything we've learned during this pandemic, it's the importance of listening to scientists, whether they're climatologists or epidemiologists.

We know that the decisions we make about our future must be firmly grounded in reason and science. And the science is clear: We must embrace a 100% clean energy future to defeat the climate crisis.

That's why we are lifting up Earth Day Northwest's work and sharing Jay's commitment this Earth Day: to leave the Earth as a legacy, and not a burden, for future generations. For Jay, that includes his four grandkids: Chase, Zoe, Brody, and Annie.

If you feel the same, we hope you'll share Jay's commitment with your friends and family on Facebook right now.
