John, we’ve been fighting for our planet since even before the first Earth Day 50 years ago. Click here to renew your commitment to our cause »

NCLCV

Today is the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day, and it’s never been clearer why our work matters.

We’re working from home to protect the planet for the people who live on it. That’s you and all our communities, particularly communities of color and low-income communities who are on the front lines of the climate crisis and now the coronavirus crisis.

What those communities are experiencing right now proves elections matter. We need leaders who will prioritize people over polluters. Leaders who will respect science and listen to experts. Leaders who will act on climate and establish Clean Energy for All. Leaders who represent us all and the values we share.

John, will you renew your membership this Earth Day? Please help us continue going to bat for our most vulnerable North Carolinians.

Renew now

During this respiratory pandemic, Trump’s EPA is rolling back a host of rules that protect our air quality, exploiting the crisis and giving their cronies free reign to make the outbreak even more deadly. This is part of a deliberate effort to undo all the progress we’ve made over the last 50 years and to make our climate crisis even worse.

At the state level, our General Assembly continues to underfund our environmental regulators and thwart their efforts to keep us safe from GenX, hog waste, and coal ash.

Enough is enough. We must hold them accountable now and then elect new leadership in November.

You can make it happen when you renew your membership at the $20 or $10 level right now, John »

I hope you’re staying safe and enjoying the outdoors this Earth Day,
Carrie
