I’m sure by now you’ve seen the news: President Biden is standing down and has endorsed Kamala Harris to be the 2024 presidential nominee.

 

This unprecedented political moment has led us to a historic opportunity to elect the first woman – a woman of both Black and Asian descent – to the most powerful office in the world.

 

This move is also a victory for the fight for a ceasefire in Gaza and justice for Palestine. The vice president has noticeably distanced herself from the president’s hardline position on Gaza for months, and it is undeniable that our movement for Gaza created the political pressure that set this chain of events in motion.

 

This has the potential to set our nation and the entire world on a new course, and it’s up to us to seize it.

 

Up to now, no matter who has occupied the White House, we’ve been sorely missing representatives up and down the ballot who will push forward progressive change while holding presidents of both parties accountable for their actions. 

 

Because of the unchecked power of the presidency, untold millions of people have died in needless foreign wars, while corporations have gotten richer. 

 

This is our opportunity to end that.

 

I will keep up my fight for a ceasefire in Gaza, getting dark money out of politics, protecting small businesses, and ensuring universal healthcare.   

 

Every president should be held accountable, no matter what party they’re in. But the fact is, my opponent, Jimmy Gomez, does not believe in holding any president accountable. 

 

He has stood by as millions of dollars in aid were sent to Israel to support a genocide, and he did nothing but grandstand at photo ops when Trump was in office. 

 

We don’t know what’s going to happen in the coming days. And while I don’t agree with her on all policies, it is my firm and urgent belief that Democrats must unify as quickly as possible behind Vice President Harris to put a stop to Trump’s dangerous agenda.

 

My principles remain unchanged. My campaign will always fight for transparency, accountability, and progress for the working people of this district and this country. 

 

If you’ve followed my campaign for a while you know that small-dollar donations are our lifeblood. True grassroots support keeps my campaign independent and focused on the issues that matter most to the people of CA-34. 

 

With this change we can renew the urgency for a ceasefire in Gaza and prioritize policies that uplift people – the essence of what our campaign has always represented.
