Dear MoveOn member, This is a historic moment—and MoveOn needs to hear from its members! President Joe Biden just stepped down as the Democratic nominee for president and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the new nominee. Since the primary has concluded, the decision will likely be left to the delegates at the Democratic National Convention, who plan to vote in the next few weeks. We now have a historic opportunity to elect a proven leader, stalwart progressive, and first Black woman to the presidency—and defeat Donald Trump once again. MoveOn endorses candidates for office only by a vote of MoveOn members. It's who we are. Here's your personal ballot, where you can vote now on whether we should endorse Vice President Harris for president.  We've got a tough road ahead against the MAGA movement, which is hell-bent on restricting our rights, destroying our democracy, and attacking our communities daily. In order to defeat Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, we need to unify behind a strong Democratic nominee who can win in November.
Vice President Harris has been a champion for protecting our freedoms and has gotten things done in the White House. She is a leading voice for restoring abortion rights and was the first vice president to visit an abortion clinic. She has been an advocate for gun violence prevention, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental justice, voting rights, and so much more. President Joe Biden has been a tireless and effective public servant since he was first elected to the Senate in 1973. He chose Kamala Harris to be his running mate because he knew she'd work tirelessly to support working families and create a country where everyone can thrive. Now he's endorsed her to be the next Democratic presidential nominee.
