Friend,
For well over a year, the overwhelming majority of Americans
have said they did not want Joe Biden to be the Democratic nominee for
president.
As of today,
he won’t be.
We could
all see the writing on the wall, but today’s developments are
nonetheless shocking.
The entire Democratic party infrastructure organized to conceal
the truth about the president’s capacity to serve another four years.
They aggressively rigged the primary to ensure he had no credible
challengers – just as they fixed the game in 2020 and in
2016.
Now the Democrats
are descending into ever greater dysfunction. Despite the president’s
immediate endorsement of his running mate, Vice President Harris, to
take his place on the ticket, multiple Democratic leaders are pulling
levers and calling in favors to produce a contested convention in just
a few weeks’ time.
This
is an unprecedented political moment to reset and fundamentally
re-order our entire political system.
We
are calling on voters everywhere to rally behind the only pro-worker,
anti-genocide, climate emergency campaign on the ballot for the
majority of voters this November. This is our chance to truly
challenge empire, end genocide, shut down Trump, and halt the rise of
American fascism presided over by both corporate
parties.
Speaking to this transformational moment and the yearning for
deep change, I am proud to share that we have just
received the endorsement of Workers Strike Back – the working class movement founded by the
revolutionary Kshama Sawant – with a resounding 99% vote of support at
their inaugural convention today.
Through their arrogance and their lust for
power, Democratic leaders ignored the will of voters again and again.
Because of their dysfunction and failure to lead, voters are now being
told to choose between a ticket led by a racist demagogue – and a
ticket with no candidate at all.
Increasingly, voters are choosing a
different path – one centered on people, planet, and peace. We welcome
all who join our movement today.
In solidarity and
gratitude,
Jill |
