This afternoon, President Biden announced he would step aside as the Democratic nominee and no longer seek re-election.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to President Biden for stepping up and serving the nation.

We may not have seen eye-to-eye on every issue, but I was proud to work with him to lower prescription drug costs and cap the price of insulin, bring millions of dollars to northeastern Pennsylvania for critical infrastructure upgrades, and invest in clean, renewable energy to combat climate change and create good-paying, American jobs. Together, we made amazing progress for Pennsylvanians – and Americans nationwide.

The president deserves support as he completes his term in office, as he swore an oath to do.

For us here in PA-08, though, our goal of holding this congressional seat is now more important than ever. Pennsylvania will be a focal point of GOP campaigning, both for the office of the President and for “toss-up” House races like mine.
