John,
Today, Joe Biden announced he is dropping out of the presidential race.
I’ve been clear about my deep respect and admiration for President Biden’s service before. His life of public service is a foundation for the strength of the Democratic party, and the past four years have been among the most consequential of any president in recent history.
I know this decision wasn’t easy for him to make, but I commend him for taking the step to do what he thinks is best for our country at this moment. I am grateful for his courage and legacy of American leadership.
Now more than ever, it’s important we don’t lose sight of what matters most – protecting reproductive access, tackling climate change, passing common-sense gun safety legislation, and defending our democracy.
With so much at stake this election, let’s unite as a country behind Vice President Kamala Harris and rise victorious over extremism this November.
