Dear Friends,
At MCN, we are gearing up for Ramadan 2020 and want to ensure that you all have the information and resources necessary to ensure a safe and healthy holiday.
Many families will be facing difficulty in accessing food. We are proud to sponsor a Ramadan Food Giveaway organized by the Yemeni American Merchants Association this upcoming Friday and Saturday (April 24th and 25th). Check out the flyer below for more details.
We are continuing to support our Interfaith Soup Kitchen which has an upcoming service date this Saturday (April 25th)! If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up through our volunteer form.
We've also started engaging our youth in developing webinars where they can connect with their friends and community through the events they see are impacting their lives. RSVP for our upcoming For Youth By Youth webinar on April 30th!
Have you heard about our Ramadan Challenge?
The MCN Ramadan Challenge requires us to activate our civic duties with the aim to make our communities and our world a better place, especially during this critical time of COVID-19. Activities are designed in a way that allows both youth and adults to participate. Get children involved and engaged in civic activities. Even if you're not observing Ramadan, this is a challenge you can participate in to show solidarity with your friends and neighbors who might be.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Pledge to take the MCN Ramadan Challenge. Fill in the pledge card here.
2. Take a picture of your activity and post it on your social media. Use the hashtag: #MCNRamadanChallenge2020. If you're not on social media, email us at [email protected]. This will help us gather all the stories and share with everyone how we're making a difference in our communities.
3. If you can't fulfill a challenge, then we ask you to donate $20 to MCN or to a charity of your choice!
4. At the end of the campaign, we will send you a special T-Shirt and surprise gifts for our star good citizens to appreciate your efforts!
Funds collected from our Ramadan Challenge will help purchase groceries and provide cash assistance to families in need and who call through our COVID-19 Response Hotline!
We will send you weekly reminders of the week's activities so that you can prepare ahead of time for some of the tasks. As always, we will keep you posted on all new developments regarding COVID-19. Wishing you and your families, a happy and blessed Ramadan!
In Solidarity,
