I'd like to invite you all to a virtual comedy show

fundraiser hosted by "Sanniyans", on Saturday April

25th from 6-8pm on Zoom. All proceeds are going to

Shaniyat's "Community Care Outreach" program for

COVID-19 relief to residents of NY-5.

Over the past month our campaign has spent a lot  

of time and effort supplying the people of NewYork's 5th

Congressional district (Southeast Queens and

Nassau County) with the resources they need to survive.

Although this is a serious strain on our campaigns funds

and capacity, it is so important to help folks survive this

unprecedented crisis. We plan to continue supporting

the community with supplies as long as this crisis

exists, but that will be difficult without serious funds. 

Luckily, my good friend and truly inspiring

progressive, Thiviya Navaratnam and her amazing group

"Sanniyans" decided to help raise money for our

Community Care Outreach program. Sanniyans is

gratoiusly hosting a virtual comedy show this Saturday at

6pm on Zoom. All, and I do mean all, of the funds raised

will help us continue to supply vulnerable families in my

community. 

This show features a lineup of all South Asian female

comedians, as well as musical performances by South

Asian singer-songwriters Rolex Rasathy and Elsz, and a

little after party DJ'd by DJ Ushka. I will also speak to the

issues COVID-19 has created for our most marginalized

communities, and what our campaign is doing to help. 

We need to raise $3,000 dollars by Saturday in order to

fill the dozens of supply requests we have. Our

campaign does deliveries every Monday, making this an

imperative time for us to raise the necessary funds. It costs

around $50 to supply one family, so helping us get to

$3,000 will ensure many families have groceries come

Monday morning.

The continued generosity you have shown for the people of

my community and the work our campaign is doing, is truly
