Today, President Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race. I have thoughts I want to share with you on where the Democratic Party goes from here, but first and foremost, I want to congratulate Biden on a historic career.

President Biden made America stronger. He charted a bright path forward for our nation after four tumultuous years under the former administration and made historic contributions to our nation. I couldn’t be more proud of my work on his agenda.

President Biden’s love of country and loyalty to the American people has been unwavering. He will undoubtedly go down in the history books as a true American patriot.

Frankly, another Trump term would be perilous. Just look at his first term: Under executive order, he separated thousands of families at the border. He cut taxes for corporations and the wealthiest Americans. His recklessness addressing the COVID pandemic cost millions of Americans their lives. He instigated the longest government shutdown ever. He used the presidency to incite a violent insurrection against our democracy, completely shattering his facade that he respects the Constitution, our democracy, and rule of law. And of course, he became the first president in the history of the United States to be impeached twice.

The task of defeating Trump at the ballot box is as clear as ever, folks. We must prevent his lies and his lawlessness from returning to the White House.

I believe Vice President Harris has the experience, energy, and resolve to lead our nation and defeat Donald Trump and his backwards agenda.

I hope you’ll consider splitting a contribution of anything you can between me and Vice President Harris so Democrats can move forward together and beat Donald Trump in November. Your support right now means more than you know.
