This afternoon, Joe Biden announced he will step aside as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States and no longer seek re-election. I want to take a moment to thank President Biden for always putting America first. I was proud to work with him to cap prescription drug costs for seniors, bring billions of dollars to New York for much-needed infrastructure, and invest in clean, renewable energy to combat climate change. Together, we made incredible progress for New Yorkers—and Americans across the country. I also want to thank President Biden for saving our democracy once before in the last presidential election. The president deserves this much-needed rest. His legacy is secure, and now it's our turn to take up the torch.
