Preserving Our Texas History

TX-23 is home to many historical sites. I’m committed to preserving them for future generations.

This week, the Department of the Interior formally established the Blackwell School in Marfa as the 430th National Park Site. This important designation will allow the National Park Service to take care of the school and tell its stories for years to come.

I am proud that my legislation, the Blackwell School National Historic Site Act, was signed into law, making this important achievement possible. I am also grateful for all the community input and local leadership that helped see this project through.

President Trump’s Assassination Attempt

In the coming weeks, my colleagues and I on the House Committee on Homeland Security will thoroughly investigate the unacceptable security lapses at President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.

I have heard your concerns and share your frustration. I will not stop fighting until we fully understand what went wrong, demand accountability, and implement measures to ensure a situation like this never happens again.

Keeping Our Communities Safe

Tren de Aragua is a Venezuelan street gang that is downright evil and notorious for committing horrific crimes such as murder, kidnapping, and extortion.

For months, I have pushed the Biden administration to designate Tren de Aragua as a transnational criminal organization. While they have finally done so, we must still address the root cause of this issue—a failure to secure the border.

It's past time to end catch and release policies, close asylum loopholes, and enforce deportations across our nation.

Microsoft-CrowdStrike Outage

This week's Microsoft-CrowdStrike outage is a reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist on even our most secure networks.

As a retired naval cryptologist, I strongly believe we must leverage and combine the strengths of the government, industry leaders, and academia to improve these networks while we combat the rise in threats to our digital environment.

The world deserves answers. I’m calling on Microsoft and CrowdStrike to address this matter immediately.
