This afternoon, President Joe Biden decided to step aside from the presidential race.

Joe Biden has offered this country decades of faithful service.

As President, he has made this country safer, stronger, and more prosperous, and his election to the Presidency was critical to the enduring promise of American democracy. He is the most pro-union President of my lifetime, and he signed the most consequential legislation for veterans of my generation.

John, I know that you, like many, may feel uncertain about what comes next, and we are in an unprecedented moment in our country. But there is one thing that hasn’t changed: the importance of this November’s elections.

Control of the White House, the Senate, and the House are at stake. The future that we want for our country is on the ballot.

It’s just as important today, if not more important, that we give our all to help Democrats keep the White House, keep the Senate, and take back the House.

We well know that this election could come down to Pennsylvania. I’m running for re-election in one of the closest, battleground races in the Commonwealth right now.
