President Biden just announced that he is dropping out of the 2024 race. 

 

To that, my response is THANK YOU for all you have done.

 

Thank you for beating Donald Trump four years ago, for beginning the process of rebuilding our economy, for lowering prescription costs for our parents and grandparents, for fighting for our veterans, and for the first major steps to combating the climate crisis and gun violence.

 

I don’t think most Americans today realize how much worse off we were four years ago, both personally and politically. 

 

Our alliances were fading as Donald Trump catered to our enemies. 

 

Our friends and family were dying from COVID-19 or grieving the deaths of their loved ones as Trump and the Republican Party turned their base against science and basic safety recommendations.

 

Our most experienced intelligence and other agency officials were warning us that they’d seen the plans for a second Trump term and that our country as we know it was on the line.

 

President Biden prevented disaster when he was elected and saved us by restoring many of our safeguards when he took office.

 

I hope we always remember his lifetime of dedicated service to America. He was there when we needed him most, and we should forever be in his debt.

 

The threats posed by a second Trump administration are here again. Now we must come together and rally behind the party, not just one hero but every brave Democrat on our ballots this November, to protect our democracy and finish what we started.
