John — in case you haven't seen the breaking news:
President Joe Biden has officially announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, and is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party's nominee for president in November.
He’s made an honorable decision to pass the torch to the next generation of leadership — and we thank him for it.
In just four years in office, President Biden passed the Inflation Reduction Act through a nearly deadlocked Congress, made history by joining UAW auto workers on the picket line, and guided the country out of a global pandemic and turbulent economic waters.
The next Democratic President has the opportunity to build on these achievements, John. And we know — from talking to tens of thousands of you over the last few months — that you are ready to get to work to defeat Trump and MAGA in November.
But first, we need to know where you are and what you are feeling in this moment.
Can you take our rapid response WFP member poll now?
Here's the first question: On a scale of 1 to 5, how excited are you about the prospect of Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president?

Over the coming days, we plan to engage in a careful endorsement process with members like you, our state chapters, and our affiliates. But what you’ve already made clear to us is this: Donald Trump cannot be allowed to win this election.
Trump and his MAGA friends have created a 900-page plan called “Project 2025” that says exactly what they will do if they win power.
They want to destroy public education, ban abortion nationwide, and make it even harder for workers to organize for better wages.
The contrast with our vision for America couldn’t be clearer.
We’re going to organize this year and in the coming years to tackle climate change, restore abortion rights, and build an economy that puts working people first.
The stakes this November for all the issues we care about are sky-high. And we believe that if we come together over the next 106 days, we will win.
But first, we need to know where you stand. Please take our rapid response WFP member poll now. Your answers are important to us and will truly help guide our party as we move through the coming days and into November:
