President Joe Biden just announced that he is no longer seeking reelection.

This is an unprecedented moment in an election cycle – and it will have profound effects for our country and on the Senate race here in Nevada. What we do next is going to determine who wins the White House and the Senate in November, plain and simple.

I’m going to be straight with you: Republicans want us to be divided. In the days and weeks following President Biden’s announcement, they will try to catch us off guard so they can flood battleground states like Nevada with millions of dollars before we have a second to catch our breath and respond.

We absolutely cannot let that happen.

Another four years of Trump in the White House with a Republican Senate majority would be catastrophic to everything we believe in and fight for. Defending our Senate majority is the ONLY way we can safeguard our most fundamental rights and freedoms – no matter what happens at the top of the ticket. 

Political experts predict that Nevada will determine control of the Senate AND the White House, which means everything from abortion rights to our very democracy is on the line in the Silver State. The Cook Political Report recently downgraded Nevada from “Toss-Up” to “Lean R,” so we have our work cut out for us.

Our path forward will not be easy, but I know that we can come together and win in November. We must stay diligent and work harder than ever before – because more is at stake than ever before.

I cannot predict what the next few months until Election Day have in store, but I do know that this moment will define what happens in November. We need a surge of grassroots support TODAY to fend off the next wave of GOP attacks.
