[link removed] [[link removed]] I’m obviously going to do everything I can to win this race. But I want to take a moment to talk about what happens if we lose — not to scare anyone, but just so that we are all clear-eyed about the stakes.
The fact is, I’m Kansas’s only Democratic member of Congress. So the Kansas GOP is working hard to replace me with someone who will back their agenda.
Here’s what that agenda consists of, according to the platform the party put together earlier this year: an all-out abortion ban, a ban on same-sex marriage, and restrictions on who can access health care through Medicaid.
The Kansas GOP, the NRCC, and a whole host of other extremist groups want me out of Congress, and they are pouring millions of dollars into this race to replace me with someone who will back their platform. We truly can win this race, but only if we avoid getting drowned out by their flood of spending.
I know this is turning out to be a stressful, difficult election, but I don’t back down from a tough fight, and I’m counting on you not to back down either. Can you pitch in to spread the message about my campaign and defend this battleground seat?
