Friend,
My commitment to a clean planet goes back to the first Earth Day in 1970, when I was just about to start high school and became a member of the "Clean Earth Club." Since then, I have done everything I can to reduce my own carbon footprint and that of my family. I've been an organic farmer since the 1980s (and recently started my Victory Garden 2020!), I was a beekeeper for many years, I have driven a hybrid vehicle since those became available, and I consider it my mission as a mother to make sure that my adult children carry on a commitment to our Earth.
It was a natural fit to work on environmental issues when I got to Congress. When the New Democrats Coalition announced that it would be forming a Climate Change Task Force, I signed on as a co-chair, and have worked relentlessly with my other co-chairs - among them a scientist and clean energy entrepreneur - to find innovative ways to address the climate crisis with urgency. We know that the United States can and should be a global leader in fighting climate change.
I’ve called for the US to return to the Paris Climate Accord, which is the bare minimum of what we need to be doing. I have signed on to the Climate Action Now Act to stand by our obligations under the Paris Accord, and I am a co-sponsor of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019 which would create a fee on carbon at the point of extraction, to encourage market-driven innovations of clean and green technologies.
I am so proud to tell you that my contributions to environmental legislation have earned me a 97% rating from the League of Conservation Voters.
This Earth Day, will you make a contribution to keep me in office, so I can continue fighting for a cleaner, healthier planet?

National Republicans want to replace me with someone who will support this Administration's virulent anti-environmental agenda. They’ve already announced a plan to spend millions of dollars on attack ads against me to put that person in office.
Our campaign is relying entirely on grassroots donations. I don’t take any corporate PAC money.
Will you make a grassroots contribution of $10 or $25 to my campaign, so I can continue fighting for a cleaner future for our planet?

Thank you, and please enjoy this Earth Day safely.
