By now you’ve heard the news that President Biden is withdrawing from the presidential race. 

I know that there is a lot of uncertainty in this moment, but here is what we know unequivocally:

Now is the time to come together to defeat Donald Trump. And that requires ALL of us to get in the Arena.

At moments like these, I think back to Arena’s origins. This organization was founded in the aftermath of Trump’s 2016 presidential victory at a time of great fear and uncertainty, but also a moment of hope. We knew that we could take the energy of that moment and harness it into action, and over the last eight years we’ve done things the pundits and naysayers didn’t think could happen. We took back the U.S. House in 2018, flipped the Virginia State Legislature in 2019, and broke up the IDC in New York State. In 2020 we defeated Donald Trump, and in 2022 we delivered historic mid-term wins including flipping the Michigan and Pennsylvania State Legislatures.

We’re now at another moment where we have to make what seems impossible possible. 

If you’re concerned about a second Trump term or how things will play out over the next several weeks, I encourage you to channel that anxiety into action.

Now is the time to take the leap. We work with hundreds of campaigns and movement organizations looking for talent, all the way up to the top of the ticket. Many of them are hiring right now, and they need your expertise and energy to deliver victories in November.

2. Already working on a campaign? Learn how to design and run a winning GOTV program!

From August 27-29, we’re hosting a GOTV Workshop Series to help campaign staff develop their plans, budgets, canvassing scripts and more. In these flexible sessions designed for busy campaign staff, we’ll cover evidence-based best practices for mobilizing voters and help participants get ready to run GOTV programs that meet this challenging moment.

3. Want to make a difference with your dollars? Help fund our GOTV Workshop Series. 

In close elections, GOTV is the key victory. Never has this been more true than in 2024, when turnout will determine the result of a historically unsettled presidential election, as well as control of the House and the Senate.

Between now and November, we will train hundreds of campaign staff to run effective and strategic GOTV programs, equipping them with evidence-based best practices to mobilize voters on campaigns up and down the ballot across the U.S. and in critical House, Senate, and Presidential battlegrounds.

It’s impossible to predict exactly how the next few months will play out, but at Arena, we know how to win elections and support the people working on them.
