The Supreme Court will hear a case about Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming hormone therapy for young people.

NowThis featured Dr. Serina Floyd, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW). She discussed the danger and very real hardships faced by patients forced to travel out of state for legal abortion care:

- A delayed bus left a patient with nowhere to stay, so PPMW staff stepped in to help.

- A team of providers came together, going above and beyond to provide a patient with same-day care.

Planned Parenthood President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson sat down with theSkimm and talked about what her mom taught her about advocacy, and why we should be hopeful about the future of reproductive care and access.

Is there an over-the-counter abortion pill I can take without a prescription?

The short answer: No. There isn't an over-the-counter abortion pill available. But, here's what you need to know if you are considering a medication abortion:

Depending on the laws in your state, you can get abortion pills from Planned Parenthood health centers or from other abortion providers.

Know the difference between abortion pills and morning-after pills. Abortion pills end an early pregnancy. The morning-after pill is used after you've had unprotected sex, to prevent a pregnancy before it happens.

Beware of crisis pregnancy centers. These places that may seem like legitimate medical centers, but they aren't. CPCs are actually run by staff who spew misinformation to try to scare or shame people out of getting an abortion. They often have no medical providers onsite.

Bans on abortion access continue. Get information about laws in your state — as well as where and how to get an abortion from your nearest Planned Parenthood health center or AbortionFinder.org.
