JD Vance is a phony opportunist who was selected because he’s willing to do what Mike Pence didn’t do on January 6: Kiss Trump’s ass. He’s an election denier who supports a national abortion ban and voted against IVF access.
Vance claims to care about people from small towns like the one I grew up in. But he rails against the Affordable Care Act and has attacked Social Security and Medicare as “the biggest roadblocks to any kind of real fiscal sanity,” all so he can give tax cuts to big corporations and his buddies in Silicon Valley.
John, that’s not what we do in Minnesota. We don’t attack our neighbors’ rights and try to take their health care away. We welcome everyone in, and we lift each other up.
Let me be clear: Project 2025, the extreme right-wing agenda Trump and Vance plan to advance from the White House, is deeply out of step with the values of a majority of Americans. And I know it will be rejected in November.
Still, it’s not going to be an easy fight. Trump and Vance are determined to flip us red for the first time since 1972, and if they do, they’ll secure their ticket to the White House.
