Our fundamental right to vote has never been more important as we look to elect strong leaders this year. And, especially now, access to mail-in ballots is imperative.

But right now, our access to the ballot is under threat because the U.S. Postal Service is in danger of running out of money. My mother is a postal worker, and like so many, she has been going to work every day during this crisis to ensure folks can both send and receive the things they need.

Here in Kansas, Democrats took the lead on mail-in ballots, making our upcoming Presidential Primary a fully vote-by-mail election – in fact, many have already received their primary ballots! Just a few days ago, I filled out my own.

Ensuring access to mail-in voting is a crucial part of our fundamental right to vote. And our USPS workers, like my mom, will play the key role in ensuring that our elections are run smoothly.
