Hi John –

If you haven’t noticed, Minnesota is on a roll.

Our unemployment rate is just 2.8%, we were just ranked the sixth best state in the country for business [[link removed]] , and Minneapolis was ranked the happiest city in the US [[link removed]] .

The Governor and State Legislature have been making the right moves to make our great state even greater.

But all of that could change if the GOP sweeps back into power in the Minnesota House.

Don’t believe me? You don’t need to look further than the Anoka-Hennepin School Board. With a 3-3 split between conservatives and folks who believe in education, they’ve ground the school district to a stop.

They won’t replace 20 year old textbooks, they put the brakes on a years-long update to history curriculum, and almost shut down the district in a budget standoff. The district’s spokesperson sees through the trees on this:

“"It's not a secret," said Skelly, that conservative members have said they want to slow the implementation of new materials that meet the state's new standards, with the idea that the November election could bring changes.” [[link removed]]

Their goal is to undo the progress that was made over the past decade and bring Anoka Hennepin Schools back to headlines for leading in discrimination instead of education [[link removed]] .

The takeaway here: Every election matters and we can’t let the GOP put the brakes on Minnesota!

Please, step up today and make a donation to help me keep fighting to elect Democrats across the state. I’m committed to doing my part to stop the GOP’s dysfunction from infecting our state, but I need your help! [[link removed]]

Thank you,

Julie
