Friend —
A bit further down in this email, we are going to ask you to make a donation to Elissa Slotkin's campaign for Senate in Michigan. But before we do that, it's important to her that we explain why this request is so important.
Here's where we're at:
In just a short while, Donald Trump and J.D. Vance will take the stage at their first public rally since last weekend, and since the Republican National Convention.
Naturally, they chose Michigan for the event because this is the state that will decide everything in November.
One of the last times Trump was here, he called Elissa a "Far Left Liberal Lunatic." So the attacks are probably coming again.
But more than that, their appearance comes just two weeks before the Republican Senate primary when we'll find out who our opponent is. Trump has endorsed Mike Rogers, who will surely be in attendance and speaking.
This will be a chance for Republicans to build serious momentum in Michigan, teeing our eventual opponent to come out of the primary strong.
No matter what happens with the presidential, it’s important that we do everything we can to be ready the moment the general election in this Senate campaign begins in earnest.
Elissa is doing her part. She is campaigning hard all across the state. But resources matter, and for that we rely primarily on individual, small-dollar donations.
That's why we have to ask. But first we thought it important to explain the current landscape. So with that said, if holding this Senate seat and Democrats winning Michigan is important to you, this is a moment we need you.
