Dear John,
It’s been a harrowing couple of weeks in the presidential election, beginning with the painful Biden-Trump debate, followed by Democrats’ public agonizing over whether Biden should drop out, and then Saturday’s attempted assassination of President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
But for all that has happened, three things have not changed:
- This is still a margin-of-error race;
- Donald Trump remains an existential threat to American democracy; and
- We must keep doing everything in our power to win in November.
That’s why I’m so thrilled to tell you about the test results we’ve just gotten back for our latest videos.
The team at Inequality Media Civic Action has been testing a series of new videos aimed at persuading key voting blocs that Democrats will do a better job with the economy than Republicans.
Our hope was that the people who see these videos will move in our direction by maybe two or three points. But our latest videos are moving the numbers by 14 to 18 points, including among young people and voters who supported Biden in the past but have shifted away from him – exactly the key voters we need to help beat Trump.
Now we need to get these videos in front of as many people as humanly possible, so I’m asking you today: Will you donate $5 a month to help power Inequality Media Civic Action and stop Donald Trump?
Yes, Robert! I’ll start a monthly donation.
No, I’m sorry, I can’t chip in monthly.
Over the last decade, Inequality Media Civic Action has gained nearly 9 million followers across social media, and our videos are spreading to over 22 million people a week.
And we’re not just preaching to the choir. Our demographic analytics show that an unusually high percentage of self-identified conservatives and independents follow our content, compared to other progressive organizations.
But here’s the key question: Are our videos actually effective at persuading people to change their minds?
These latest test results show that the answer is a resounding yes: People who watch our videos are persuaded by significant margins that corporations are more to blame for price increases than the government and that Democrats are better for their economic well-being than Republicans.
Specifically, when asked whether they blame “for-profit corporations” or “government” for the increasing cost of goods after watching our latest videos, former Biden supporters in the critical swing state of Wisconsin moved an astounding 19 points towards “for-profit corporations.” Young progressives in the state moved 18 points. “Right leaning” viewers in Pennsylvania moved our way by 17 points.
Perhaps even more important, when asked whether Republicans or Democrats would do more to tackle corporate greed, the number of “right-leaners” and “former Biden supporters” who chose Democrats increased by 6 points.
We checked and double-checked the data and looked at virtually every possible crosstab, including Fox News viewers, Truth Social users, every age group, men, women… you name it. The numbers were impressive virtually across the board.
Now, as a grassroots-funded organization, we rely on donations to power our work. So if we’re going to get these videos in front of the tens of millions of people who need to see them, we need your help.
