Friend, we've come such a long way since launching this campaign over one year ago.

I want to share some highlights and show you how far we've come, but first, I have to ask: My team and I need to raise $65,000 by MIDNIGHT to keep this campaign running strong to finally defeat Ted Cruz. But we're coming up $34,256 short of that goal this afternoon, so I'm personally asking: Will you chip in $5 to help us meet our goal?

I've always known that Ted Cruz is wrong for Texas – but until Jan. 6, I never could have imagined myself running against him.

After that day, I knew without a doubt that Texans needed a Senator they can be proud of. So, after much consideration and talking it over with my wife, Aly, I announced my candidacy on May 3, 2023.

From the start, I knew I would be the underdog. But just two weeks after launching this campaign, Roll Call upgraded our race from "Solid Republican" to "Battleground!"

With supporters like you fired up to beat Ted Cruz, this team helped power our movement with hundreds of thousands of grassroots donations. That grassroots support enabled me to travel across Texas to meet voters and listen to the issues that impact the lives of Texas families.

And it gets even better: Since we first launched our campaign, we've made huge gains in the polls. I am now TIED with Ted Cruz at 41%!

I never imagined we'd be this close at this stage in the race. In my first race back in 2018, folks didn't give me a chance – even up to Election Day. But luckily, I'm used to hard fights. I put in the work to beat the odds and defeat a 22-year incumbent.

We're already better off today than we were then, friend.

But Ted Cruz and his mega donors are looking at the same polls we are, and they're already doing everything they can to crush our momentum – which has amounted to Ted Cruz raising over $59 MILLION.

That's why we need to meet every single fundraising goal we set, including tonight's $65,000 goal.

This team's support has gotten me through the first year of this campaign, and I'm counting on you to power us through the last few months to Election Day. Will you chip in $5, $25, or anything you can spare to help me fire Ted Cruz this November and be the leader Texans need in the Senate?
