Happy Earth Day, John!

Today, I’m reflecting on all the beauty of our state. When I moved here over four decades ago, I was struck by two things: the heart of the people who live here, and our abundant lands. Colorado’s Third is the best place I know to live—which is why Scott Tipton’s anti-environment career is a dishonor to the people he represents.

Here’s a quick look at how our congressman has voted only recently:

He voted AGAINST Colorado public land protection.
He voted AGAINST the Climate Action Now Act.
He voted AGAINST keeping America’s commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement.
And he voted to PROTECT the Trump administration’s weakening of clean air standards.
And that’s just in the last year and a half. All of this has culminated in an abysmal 7% lifetime rating from the League of Conservation Voters. That’s an F.

Scott Tipton has had nearly ten years in office to protect us from climate change. Instead, he voted against climate action every chance he got.

Unlike him, I have been a champion for our environment and for climate action all my adult life. That’s why I got a 100% rating every year I served in the Colorado House from Conservation Colorado (the Colorado Chapter of LCV) and why they named me Legislator of the Year in 2017. My record is clear: not only do I really care about the environment, but I have worked successfully to protect it.

Let’s send Tipton back home in November, because we don’t have a second to waste. We need science and real action—not anti-environment rhetoric and denial paid for by a who’s who of the world’s biggest polluters and dark money.
