2020 DNC Delegate Selection Update

Florida Democratic Party District Elections May 14th - 16th, 2020

The 2020 Democratic National Convention will now be held the week of August 17, 2020. In order to protect the health and safety of voters, the Florida Democratic Party has engaged a professional online voting company to provide electronic voting for delegate elections. They are working closely with Yes Elections to ensure that our Congressional district-level delegate elections are accessible, easy to use, and accurate.

Florida's pledged District-Level delegates will be elected by online votes cast between Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT and close on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT.

In order to cast your vote in the delegate elections, you must request an electronic ballot.  Electronic ballots can be requested beginning Monday, April 20, 2020 through Wednesday, May 13, 2020. All voters registered as Democrats in the State of Florida are eligible to vote in their Congressional District's delegate elections.

District Delegate Candidate Lists and Allocations

The Presidential campaigns have provided the final lists of candidates eligible to be elected to District-Level Delegate positions and the list is now online. You can access the candidate list here.

Each delegate candidate is pledged to a Presidential candidate. Presidential candidates earned delegates proportional to the expressed preference of primary voters in Florida's March 17 Presidential Preference Primary.

Florida has 248 total delegates. The bulk of our delegation will be District-Level Delegates elected at the Congressional District Caucuses. Florida has 143 District-Level Delegates and 13 District-Level Alternates. Each Congressional district is allocated a limited amount of District-Level Delegates to send to National Convention.
