Statement from the Asian American Action Fund on the Passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee


Washington, D.C. - Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) is deeply saddened by the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a dedicated public servant and a steadfast champion for civil rights and social justice. Representing Texas's 18th Congressional District, she devoted her career to fighting for equality and justice for all Americans.


Throughout her distinguished tenure, Congresswoman Jackson Lee’s commitment to advancing civil rights for all Americans was unparalleled. Her tireless efforts in advocating for equality and justice transcended boundaries, positively impacting communities far beyond her own district. Her work significantly uplifted the Asian American community, highlighting the importance of unity and solidarity in the pursuit of civil rights.
