Dear John ,
Tell your legislators to support public policy based on science, not politics. [[link removed]]
First, I hope you are staying safe and healthy. While the current pandemic and its response continues to shape our daily lives in unexpected and challenging ways, I also want to take a moment to wish you a happy Earth Day.
While we observe Earth Day, the COVID-19 pandemic is providing dramatic evidence that our elected representatives must shape public health policy using science, and reject partisan political maneuvering.
While Wisconsinites overwhelmingly support a practical, safe, and science-based response to the COVID-19 public health crisis, it’s important your elected representatives know it. Tell them now. [[link removed]]
It’s not just the current crisis that requires such thinking. We’re facing a multitude of challenges in Wisconsin including unsafe drinking water and a dependence on dirty fossil fuels that are accelerating climate change.
The vast majority of us are doing our part – making sacrifices and fighting this virus and other public health threats – while many of the people elected to serve our best interests are fomenting an antiquated, dangerous, and irrational response to the crises of both COVID-19 and the existing challenges to our public health.
Tell your elected representatives to stop playing these dangerous games with our future. Tell them to contribute to solutions rather than worsen these threats to our livelihoods and health. [[link removed]]
We’ve written a short message to legislators urging them to support science-based decision making and to reject the temptation to govern through fear and partisan gamesmanship. Send it now as is, or take some time to personalize your message.
Tell them to support science-based decision-making and to reject partisan political games to protect our health now and in the future. [[link removed]]
