Dear John,

The country is finding out about Trump’s Project 2025 -- and we need to continue to amplify it so that Americans know how a second Trump term would radically transform America into an authoritarian state. Project 2025 envisions a country in which human and civil rights will be methodically destroyed and the U.S. military deployed into the streets of American cities.

Now that word is getting out, Trump is trying to distance himself, claiming to “know nothing” about Project 2025. But this is an outright lie: His aides wrote it, his PAC promotes it, and his national campaign press secretary appears in the recruitment video.

Its agenda is sweeping and highly detailed, aimed at dismantling the checks and balances that distribute power among the branches, and consolidating power in a leader who is above the law.

Among the hundreds of plans for autocracy in this 900+ page document are these:

• Military raids and encampments to deport millions of immigrants

• Nationwide abortion restrictions and a rollback of LGBTQ+ rights

• Purging 50,000 civil servants, replacing them with MAGA loyalists

• Gutting racial equity programs and climate initiatives

• Overruling mayors and governors in blue cities and states to impose the MAGA agenda everywhere

They’re hoping most Americans won’t find out about this dangerous roadmap before voting Trump’s demagoguery into power in November. We can't let that happen.

Pledge to expose Trump’s Project 2025 and sound the alarm about this existential threat to the rights and freedoms we have enshrined in our democracy.

Project 2025 seeks to turn neighbor against neighbor and divide us by the things that make us who we are, differences that should be cherished and honored: our ethnic backgrounds, religious faiths, gender identities, and whom we love. They want to quash dissent and put all power in the hands of those who profess their fealty to Trump’s bullying and lies.

If we stay silent, if we allow the Trump-MAGA juggernaut to hide their true intentions, low- information voters will make their decisions based on appeals to gut-level emotion that bring out the worst in us instead of the best.

When you commit to expose Project 2025 by whatever means available, you’re helping to shine a light in the darkest corners of our national nightmare. It’s going to take a relentless focus on what Trump’s MAGA party is actually planning to do in order to shape the trajectory of this race before November, and you are a crucial part of this effort.

Every conversation, every social media post, every vote you inspire -- makes a difference. And there has never been a more important time to make that difference than now.
