Friend —
When Donald Trump and J.D. Vance looked at the map and decided where to hold one of their first events after the Republican convention, the choice was obvious.
They chose Michigan.
Now, I'm not entirely sure why Trump thought an Ohioan would help him win Michigan, but this is where they're heading.
And they're coming here first because there is no state more crucial to the presidential election, and to control of the U.S. Senate, than this one.
When they arrive, they will channel the activism of a fired-up Republican base: Trump picking J.D. Vance sends a signal to his far-right base that he is doubling down on MAGA and choosing a successor who can carry that torch long after he’s gone.
That energy will benefit our eventual opponent.
There's no sugarcoating it, these are difficult times. But we are not without power to determine the outcome of this Senate race, and who wins in Michigan.
But I cannot do it alone. I will do my part. No one will work harder than me. But I need you with me. So I’m asking:
