Hey John,
Today is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! Even though we can’t gather in person, Earth Day 2020 is still going to be full of activism, community, and inspiration. Here are just some of the ways you can take action this Earth Day!
Tune in for Earth Day Live
Earth Day Live is going to be big! This youth-led, three-day live streamed event will feature videos from special guests like Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Al Gore, as well as training sessions, guidelines for taking action from home, music, and more. Hear stories from scientists, politicians, and activists from around the world. Over 400 organizations are taking part in this historic event as we join together to demand climate action. Don’t miss it! You can join in here.
Join an Earth Day Watch Party
Celebrate Earth Day by hosting a watch party with your friends and family! Choose one of four environmentally themed documentaries—Chasing Coral,
Cooked, Water Warriors, and Lowland Kids— available online for free, and sign up here to host a watch party with your friends and family. You’ll receive instructions on how to watch the documentaries, and a link to join a live Q and A with the directors of the films tomorrow at 4pm, hosted by our friends at Exposure Labs.
Add an Earth Day Frame to Your Facebook Profile
Spread awareness for Earth Day’s 50th anniversary by adding a frame to your Facebook profile! Simply go to your profile, click on Update Profile Picture, click Add Frame, and type League of Conservation Voters Earth Day in the search box. From there, just choose whichever frame you like best!
Earth Day’s big 50th anniversary may not be what we imagined, but it’s still something to celebrate. We look forward to coming together (digitally!) to advocate for climate action, clean air and water, and protections for wilderness and wildlife. For 50 years, Earth Day has helped create awareness of just how precious our beautiful planet is, and just how important a healthy environment is for all those who live on it. We hope you’ll join us in making Earth Day 2020 one to remember!
Thank you,
Francesca Varela
