John, it’s Angus King.

Millions of people from around the world are visiting Maine this summer. While they’re here, they will likely enjoy our famous lobsters, blueberries, potatoes, and dairy products. And behind every delicious Maine meal are our essential farmers, who work year-round to put food on our tables and uphold Maine’s universal renown.

We’re already halfway through July, and I can’t help but think about the challenges ahead. When the weather cools down, and the tourists return home, we must ensure that we have leadership who will look out for our farmers during the toughest time of the year. But I’m up for reelection this November, and I need your help. Will you chip in before our deadline to help me continue to fight for them in the Senate? [[link removed]]

It’s no secret that climate change is already taking its toll on our state’s agriculture. And as its effects become more extreme and unpredictable, we need to make significant investments into projects to help our farms and farmers evolve. That, along with rising costs and inflation are making an already tough way of life even more difficult.

I was proud to help secure millions of dollars in federal funding for irrigation projects across Maine that will help keep our farmers on the land that generations before them cultivated. We still have more to do, and I’m running for reelection to get it done.

I’m asking for your support because we need someone who not only understands what’s at stake, but who knows how to address these critical issues effectively. Will you join me in standing up for our irreplaceable Maine farmers before the mid-month deadline? [[link removed]]
