Hey, John!
The Olympics kick off a week from today in Paris, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Some folks know I did track & field in high school and held my school’s record in the triple jump for a long time. I knew where Eugene was, even as a high schooler in Pennsylvania, because of Track Town’s reputation. And, yes, I had Nike spikes.
I loved following the Track and Field Olympic Trials right here in Oregon last month and am looking forward to cheering on all our athletes – particularly the Oregonians and those connected to Oregon schools.
Oregon State’s Jade Carey will be competing alongside Simone Biles and Suni Lee on the women’s gymnastics team in her second straight Olympics!
University of Oregon’s Cole Hocker broke the Olympic Trials record for the Men’s 1500m by a whole 3.5 seconds!
Oregon native and shot put record-holder Ryan Crouser will be trying to defend his title and win his third straight gold medal. He would become the first man to win three Olympic gold medals in shot put!
Send your well wishes to Jade, Cole, Ryan, and all the amazing athletes heading to Paris to represent our country by leaving a message of support right here:
Go Team USA! Bring home those medals!
