Ramadan
Partners from all sectors across Oldham are working together to ensure communities observing Ramadan and celebrating Eid are safe and well.

Watch Cllr Chauhan the Cabinet member for Health and Social Care talk about Ramadan.

This is traditionally a time for individuals and families to come together to support each other, however this Ramadan the guidance on social distancing due to coronavirus mean that Mosques are closed and that family and community gatherings will not be able to take place in the usual way.

It is important that vulnerable and elderly members of the community are supported as much as possible by family and friends in a safe way and we are working closely with the Oldham Mosque Council to ensure information and guidance is available and easily accessible.

The Muslim Council of Britain has issued the following guidance on coronavirus and Ramadan.

Helpline – 0161 770 7007
A helpline is available for those who are isolated with no family, friends or neighbours who can help them get food and other essentials. The helpline is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The helpline can also help with urgent prescription medicines. If your pharmacy can’t help you then call the helpline.
