With a new government in place, we’re jumping into action to call on MPs across the UK to commit to a public inquiry that will urgently reform the sewage system.  

But we can’t do this without your help.

So much has changed in the last month, John. Two weeks ago, we woke up to learn that the political landscape around us had radically shifted.  

On the face of it, our new government is saying a lot of the things we’ve wanted to hear for a very long time.  

In his first week, Steve Reed MP (our new environment minister) announced measures to take the water companies to task, and on Wednesday the government announced plans in the King's Speech for a Water Bill to reform the sector.  

However, we know real change is brought about by actions not words.  

This is why we’re calling on the government to set up a public inquiry that has the authority to set the UK’s path towards zero sewage pollution in bathing waters by 2030.  

Our vision is for this to be a public inquiry mandated in law and equipped to action clear policy changes within the first year of the new government.
